Guest Room: Painted!

Before/After Painting
Jorge came over and helped me paint the guest room today. Although the color reproduction isn't the greatest in the photos, I think you can see the difference.
I'm much obliged to Jorge, who not only sat in on roller while I did the brush work, but also helped replace the curtain rod and re-hang the curtain. ¡Muchas gracias, Jorge!

Chris! How nice your room looks. It apppears so restful and the color does match your curtains. You got the result you were trying to create for your guest room.
Jorge looks like such a nice man. Wasn't it great to have someone help with the job? Not often does one have such help and such good help at that! You two look as if you are quite proud of your work as you should be. That hanging of curtains is not an easy job either. What a friend! Cute picture of you both.
Get ready for company now that the job is completed. It looks as if it would be a comfortable room in which to sleep. That will be so nice for Shawn and you. I know how much you two enjoy entertaining. Get ready. Whether or not you know it, you have just sent out the announcement to everyone that you are ready for their visits. Good for you!
You and Carol are such good painters. I never knew!
Thanks for the pictures. I enjoy getting to see them. Tell Shawn and Jorge hello for us.

Hoo boy. I'm sure it is a great improvement in person ... because the before photo looks a little better than the after.
Dude! Looks like you've lost weight as well. Congratulations.
[crispy says: Thanks! We painted the room that light brown color, and it was previously white. Maybe you prefer the white.]

I'd rather roller than brush any day.
Last time I painted was our porch. The previous owner used a "country blue," which means "most pathetic blue ever," for the porch and added matching shutters. I hate shutters. They are a vestigial abomination. Woeman insisted on adding new ones to match our maroon porch, but at least the maroon matched the brick front and our new roof job.
Our street was oil-and-chipped that summer, and I had to wash the porch like five times to remove the filth.
Anyhoo, short story long, the porch siding has ribs that are just to narrow to adequately accomodate a roller. We had to roller horizontally, then brush the living snot out of it.
Grr!
[crispy says: That's why I let Jorge roll. I knew the brushing would be far more tedious, and after all, it's my apartment, not his. Also, odd surfaces like your porch siding totally suck. In the bedrooms here, we have those windows and they have iron rods welded onto them. So there's burn spots on the wall from when those were added (it hasn't been painted since, I guess), and these rods stick right up next to the wall, making them have to be taped, but over rough welds, and with only a a gap of like a quarter-inch. It took forever to do that properly.]

I can't wait to cristen the room! And thanks for getting the old cans of beans out of there.
[crispy says: You're welcome. Although you may wish you had those beans given the diet food that you'll be served in the dining room.]

You should have painted a giant 'ADULT BOOKS' like that place in Gallup, NM

Now you have to decorate the room with various Folk Art and sherds.
