Puerto Vallarta Hiatus

Molly at The River Café, Puerto Vallarta
We were away in Puerto Vallarta for the week, and contrary to what the listing for our rental condo said, there was no wireless access in the unit. Yeah. I was really angry.
Let me just indicate that as the reason for there being so few new entries of late. I'm working on a write-up of our experiences as vegetarians there, but it's not ready.
For now, enjoy this lovely photo of Molly at one of the places where we had some vegetarian food. There is no fuzzy filter nor a Photoshop® effect involved; it was so humid there the lens of the camera fogged over while Shawn was taking photos.

Beautiful shot at my 2nd fave spot in PV. Hope you were able to check out Planeta Vegetariano and 100% Natural, my 2 top veggie spots. Plus Cafe Candela offers a full array as does Archie's Wok. Sorry about your wireless. That is unfortunate and not cool as per the owner!
[crispy says: I will address this at greater length in my upcoming review of our vegetarian delights in Puerto Vallarta, but I find Planeta Vegetariano and 100% Natural to suffer from the problem that plagues what is recognized officially as "vegetarian cuisine" in Mexico: they confuse food that has no dead animals in it with a conception of health food from the 70s. Vegetarian food does not need to be all salads, alfalfa sprouts and TVP, as beautifully demonstrated by several restaurants around the world, such as ChuChai of Montréal and Green Zebra of Chicago. We did not know in advance about Café Candela, although we did stop by Archie's Wok...it was closed when we tried to eat there for lunch.]

How did the first poster find your blog?

Maybe you gave them the address so they could watch you destroy them?
[crispy says: I don't know, but I almost deleted that comment. It seems to be a thinly-veiled attempt to get a plug for the place on my blog. Every city of any cosequence in Mexico has Internet cafés, so that's not news. Having Internet access down the street, having to use a PC with Windows instead of my trusty Macintosh and sharing a slow connection with 10 other people all cramped into a small room that has no air conditioning while it "feels like" 99° - that's hardly the same as being able to sit in your underwear in an air-conditioned room, listening to GWAR and guzzling tequila while writing on a PowerBook. It's not the same at all. Yet as I have the policy to publish all comments unless they're clearly nothing but spam, I decided to post it. I just warn people hoping to rent condos anywhere to be careful because people that list condos use that crazy real estate lingo that bends the truth and turn what is really run-down into "rustic" and crowded into "cozy."]
